The 79th Session of the Société Internationale Fernand de Visscher pour l’Histoire des Droits de l’Antiquité (SIHDA) brings together scholars from around the world to engage in the study of ancient law. Hosted by the University of Vigo from 1 to 5 September, the conference offers a forum for academic exchange, critical discussion, and international collaboration.

This year’s theme, Women in the Law of Antiquity, invites participants to reconsider legal sources and historical narratives through new perspectives, fostering dialogue across disciplines and scholarly traditions in an inspiring Atlantic setting.
